Its a link to the Lovells catalogue.
Interesting to note that there are not that many different springs for the Torana.
The Chev V8 Sport Low Springs are actually the same springs listed for Standard Height Heavy Duty V8
And the BA Falcon Sedan Sport Lows are in actual fact the Standard Height Heavy Duty Rear springs for a Torana. (Just a little fact we came across when fitting new suspension to my BA!! Didn't that make the parts boys stop and look when Holden springs were supplied to fit to a Falcon!! For those of you that dont know, I actually work at a Ford Dealership )

The spacers you are talking about are only fitted from the factory in air conditioned models so you can safely take them out.

Means there might be a few more choices out there for springs if ppl read thru the parts catalogues!
About cutting the springs, it's not that great of an idea, not to mention illegal IIRC.

but anyways,
could someone take a measure from a level surface to the bottom of their front crossmember.
mine is currently at 190mm, and i reckon it needs to go down 'bout 50mm to get the guards sitting right.
now my sump hangs down about 25mm lower than the xmember.
wondering if the heiht will be ok?

Front is 100% level but the rear is 5mm higher on the passenger side? What gives every nut and bolt and replaceable part on the car is brand new. Backed off all the suspension last night and will let it settle for a few days and see.
brett what engine do you have that has the sump hanging low? LS1?

190 [measurement of your x-member you said] - 25 [sump sits 25mm lower] = 165mm (assuming that's the lowest point the car - your sump)i hope i havent double posted this (i could of sworn i posted this last night here!!)

So, 165 - 50 [how much lower you want to go] = 115mm.
Legal in QLD (100mm is lowest at any point).
Seems like an incredibly low sump
Usually extractors/exhaust are the lowest point and first to nail you for being too low.
The old coke can trick - if you can drive over a coke can/slide one around underneath, you're pretty much in the clear.
I dont have a coke can here to measure exactly but it should be about 100mm tall.
My LH sits stupidly low, it doesn't look it because it's rolling on 13' stock rims and that keeps the police off my back.
Makes even the smallest of speedbumps seem like mount everest

they are spacers originally for air conditioned models 6mm thick made out of urethane. I bought them from WA suspensions, a lovells dealer.gts what spacers are you talking about?
byu the way cutting the front springs on a torana is not illegal in WA as long as its done properly.
the reason for that is because the wire at one end of the spring (the bottom that goes into the lower control arm) still has full diameter cross section and is not flattened like the top.

A lot of people tell you not to cut springs, has anyone ever actually experienced one breaking after being cut? I haven't.

It looks like it's sitting nicly in the cardomain pics, but the car isn't at kerb weight, so maybe it would be a tad low...well, i lowered mine, by about 4". i think its about an inch too low.

How low's the subframe measure?

I have my car sitting at fairly similar height by the looks of it, i used lovells springs all round in my car but i am very happy with the result, as it is the exhaust and swaybar sometimes scrape, wouldn't want it lower!I just bought King Springs for my hatch not sure if they are lows or super lows and i think it looks mean although the rear tyres need to be 50's.
this is with a 202 in the engine bay and V8 springs i believe they were.
looking at this pic, maybe another half inch in the rear but that would be it i reckon.
actually i don't think the rear was much lower than stock (probably stock sagged though) because the height in the rear hasn't changed much, the rear springs are a hell of alot stiffer than stock though for sure!

i wanted it down about 50mm, turns out that springs werent seated properly up in x member, so 50mm turned into 100!!!.
now, from centre of rim to bottom edge of guard is 290mm.
if anyone wants them, im happy to swap....
although, mine kinda looks the same height as sammy's?

too low for me i think...
as mentioned above, 290mm from centre of rim to guard lip.
steering arms point slightly upward.
im interested in swappsies if anyone wants them. (they're yellow and shiny)

What's the tail light lenses from? They are not uc, are they commy? datsun? I'm curious. I always thought the UC's were begging for some custom rear light lenses.
With my 40mm lower pedders reds, 14x7 alloys with 195/60 14's on them, there was a lot of speedhumps that seemed like mount everest! I think i have my front end as low as i want it, dep on how it turn's out with 17's on the car eventually. I never got around to getting a new pair of springs to replace the sagged rear's. On the shopping list once i get a diff built.

In theory, the steering arms should never be pointing up at normal ride height. Rip them out and raise the vehicle a bit.posted a new pic on cardomain, down the bottom of page.
