got a sheet of zincalume its .6 and ive used it for bits and bobs but i was wondering if it was any good for patches on a car? not the torry its a bit too thick i think, but im running out of panels for the mazda and the .6 seems to weld ok even onto thicker bits, but is it any good for a long period of time??

Zinc alume is no good.

Zinc seal and zinc anneal are fine.

Cold rolled bright is best.

Theres a couple of steel suppliers at Raymond Terrace on that stretch before the pie shop too.1mm cold rolled is best.

Or you could ask the closest panelbeater nicely for a piece,or ask him where he gets his.

mmmmmm

pie.

Anything smaller than 1mm and its very difficult to weld unless your using a spot welder.

I use 1.6mm

.6 is fine but prob with zincalum is paint wont stick to it properly
go to a sheet metal place and ask for say .9 makes it easier to weld just get mild steel doesnt cost much at all

last place i got it from was a sheet metal company i was told to help myself the bins out there
