are they commodore flares? are they a similar shape to the torana arch or will they need a bit of work?

Yeah VB-VH flares - they are almost a bolt on fit - won't take much work to make them fit at all :-)

Are you also going to do the commodore type interior? Would love to see the end result of this one Ken.

They have captive bolts which need to have holes drilled in the guyards to be able to even put them on with tape :-(
I have only just got them so will probably take the bolts out and play with them - will post pics when I do.
I couldn't believe how good a fit they appear to be though and I think they will look pretty good.

Not sure - I have the whole car to use so it may just get the engine, but it may get the whole running gear, suspension, brakes etc, and maybe the dash and seats too. Thats a long way off though.

Much better idea! Would be a very nice and unique car, I remember thinking it looked good when I first saw the photochop. You'll be trawling through the UC tail light threads looking for inspiration to complete the look...

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Please don't put in a sunroof though!

Definitely no sunroof. And it will be keeping the UC tail lights - but I have a cunning plan to make them look good :-)

No Ken, UC tail lights and looking good/cool should never be used in the same sentence, better may be a more accurate word

Yeah but the thing with my plan is the fact that they won't look like UC tail lights :-)

I am actually pleasantly surprised - I was expecting to be bombarded with hate mail. I myself am a big fan of valuable classic cars and hate seeing them butchered - I would never do this to an A9X of course but a worthless old Sunbird is open game :spoton:

To tell the truth I was also thinking of doing the same to a Subaru Brumby, but they are just as hard to find as a hatch. And like hatches they are either rustbuckets or overpriced (personal opinion).
So it is currently a race to see whether I find a Brumby or hatch first..............................

I agree, Sunbirds are open game, I have one for this very reason. (Modifying that is, not Scooby bits.) Please don't butcher an LX though.
