Hey guys, i'm not sure if this has been posted on this forum before but i found an article on Wikipedia about this perticular car and i thought i'd share with you all... it's very rare i get excited about reading an article on a standard road car, but anyways...

Some facts;
  • It is the most powerful, most expensive, and fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a proven top speed of over 400 km/h (407 km/h or 253 mph top speed).
  • Engine is a 8.0 L quad-turbo W16 producing 1001 bhp
  • Transmission is a dual-clutch DSG computer-controlled manual transmission with 7 gear ratios via shifter paddles behind the steering wheel
  • Has 10 radiators, including one for the diff and one for the oil in the automatic spoilers
  • The Veyron is the quickest production car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) with an estimated time of 2.5 seconds. It also reaches 200 and 300 km/h (124 and 186 mph) in 7.3 and 16.7 seconds respectively. The Veyron's 0-200mph time is also quicker than the McLaren F1's 120-200mph time
  • When the car reaches 137 mph, hydraulics lower the car until it has a ground clearance of about 3 1/2 inches. At the same time, the wing and spoiler deploy.
Pretty amazing....

Forgot to mention that no one makes tyres that have a high enough speed rating for that thing to reach it's real top speed.

And that it will empty its tank in like six minutes of travelling at full speed. And that's a big tank.

Wrong Heath. Plenty of tyres have a Z rating, which is 240 KPH +.

S = 180 KPH
H = 210 KPH
V = 240 KPH
W = 270 KPH
Y = 300 KPH

Forgot to edit the original post. A W16 motor has 4 banks of 4 cylinders, which is basically 4 V8's pushed together; 8 cylinders at the top, 4 either side. 4 valves per cylinder, 4 camshafts total......

And that it will empty its tank in like six minutes of travelling at full speed. And that's a big tank.

According to the Top Gear show where the Veyron raced the Cessna it takes 12 minutes to empty its tanks at 300 mph.

They had engineer the aerodynamics to suit the body shape.
