Hay all,
Just talked with the bloke who looks after my transmission & he told me i need a new diff in her as mine has a heap of backlash and is the loosest diff in town , he gave me the number for Diff Trans a diff company based in NSW. They quoted $395 for a reco diff on exchange for my old one. Just wondering if anyone else has used them or can recommend someone better in NSW??
Cheers,
Mick

I went to Diff Trans Spares in Silverwater Sydney about 5 years ago.
Took a gearbox with the layshaft still in place and asked them to remove the layshaft and drill and tap a drain hole in the casing.
Kept ringing to ask if it was ready, 2 weeks later they'd tap the hole but the layshaft was in pieces in a big plastic tub with casing, bits rolling around everywhere.
I said could you put the it back the way it was when it arrived and he told me if he did that I wouldn't be able to reassemble the rest of the box, MORON.
Get it back finally, and successfully refit everything back together myself.
Maybe they've changed hands since then?

Early Muncie 4 spd.
The early ones, pre 1969, had a boss on the casing for a drain but it wasn't drilled and tapped.

Diff Trans in Greenacre did a good job on my Borg Warner conversion.
There is also another diff mob in Kogarah - Diff Technics, they've also been around for many years.
