Hello,
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between a V8 Holden flywheel and a V8 Chev flywheel?
Do they both have the same bolt pattern?
Cheers Paul.

Thanks Neil,
Would it be safe to assume that all Holden 355 stroker cranks are Chev pattern?
I sent my flywheel away to be lightened (new flywheel) and it didnt dawn on me to check to see if it fitted until it was gone. :fool:
My engine had a 350 turbo behind it but have since sold it with the flex plate so I dont have anything to measure other than the crank and nothing to compare it with, do you or any one else know what the measurement of the crank bolt holes are for a Chev? I know that the flywheel is for a Chev as it came from the states with my gearbox.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Paul.

I can go out to the shed and measure the flexplate holes on my Chev for you

But I'm betting the 308 is way different

I measured approximately 46mm hole centres

OK
I checked both the Chev plate and a 308 plate
The Chev is larger... but its a 168 tooth unit (about 1" larger)
Theres also a 153 tooth unit thats smaller... probably the same diameter as a 308 one
The Chev plate has 6 holes all spaced evenly... yes they are about 46mm hole centres (not diameter of pcd)

The 308 has the same centre hole size and 6 bolt holes
But 5 are the same (46mm) and one hole is closer to one side... so the plate can only go on one way

I'd doubt 355 stroker cranks would be Chev pattern.... they would be 308 style

Thanks for that,
I have 6 holes and one of them measures about 48mm which makes it closer to the edge, so now I am looking for a new flywheel.
Thanks for your help Datto, much appreciated.
Cheers Paul.
