Every one with love of motorsport, should BE THERE in support as this could be the last chance Melbourne has to get a serious track, lack of people at this event could be the end of drag racing, drifting, and a place for a lot of other motorsport events to be held, so come on motor vechicle lovers get right behind this one I am most likely entering my car in support.

I think the proposal is stupid personally, or at least I don't like it - a bit biased towards the fact that there isn't even an 1/8th mile strip or a burnout pad anywhere near the distinctly most populated area of Melbourne, but I'm up for representing the modified car community in any way possible

Should probably be chucked in Vic events, I don't normally look in the drag racing section as I'm more interested in other things.

Im 100% behind this proposal, it is a fantastic design that has been put together based on the lessons learnt in WA & NSW, its missing a dedicated burnout pad but that would be pretty easy to add..... i don't really care where it is located just as long as something actually happens! :burnout:

Well that was awesome. The fact that they wanted us to stay until 5pm was ridiculous (after a bit of discussion we could leave a bit after 2pm), but the event was run beautifully and it was all set out nicely. My car was a bit out of place, as most of vehicles were big dollar builds, but ahh well I enjoyed it a lot anyway.

Seriously tough cars everywhere, nearly everything was inside so it was out of the sun etc. Apart from the stupidly priced food, very impressed :)

Uploading some photos atm, give it half an hour or so for them to all upload hahaha. Camera is a bit shitty (particularly with greens and its intermittent focussing, but I tried to select good ones)

https://cache.gmh-torana.com.au/smg.photobucket.com/albums/v505/Hezath/

As my camera isn't that great, if you see any photos of my car or you took some, please let me know/send them to me

I did manage to modify this one to get it looking proper though (had to cut out areas and swap hues etc, need a good camera!)

Yeah bloody oath. Two absolute standout favourites were the dumped S13 - awesome engineering, tubbed front end, custom radiator panel, nice chassis bracing & gorgeous cage, relocated seat, pedal box, mad hydro handbrake setup etc. Just pure awesome

Looked good. Wish I could have gone. I saw people handing out flyers at Hanging Rock last week. :)

I remember Peter Russo visiting our high school many years ago with his Funny Car, I was blown away by it being so young at the time. That would have been mid 90's. We had a question & answer section so I asked what they thought about circuit racing - he scoffed and said something like 'what's that?' LOL.... drag racers are drag racers alright! He was a very friendly bloke.

Damn I miss walking the pits at the old TAC Nationals at Calder, watching Top Fueler & Funny Car rebuilds in between rounds. Lack of championship drag racing in Vic SUCKS :(

I would love to be able to take my young bloke along to see Fuelers in Vic.... fingers crossed..

Yeah, I had a good chat with Peter on Saturday, he's been over in the states racing for the past 10 years, he is itching to see some action in Victoria again! He hasn't actually raced his car since 2007!

What I noticed on Saturday, was all the big gun Drag Racers, are all completely approachable, and more than happy to have a chat! Thats what makes it such a top sport! If this proposed track gets up. It'd be one of the best strips in the WORLD!
