Was there anything on A Current affair last night?

I got an email from ANDRA on Tuesday saying it was going to be on Tuesday night, but the cricket was on.

Raised in Parliament yesterday:

" Mr DALLA-RIVA (Eastern Metropolitan) -- I was very pleased on Saturday, 20 February, to attend the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) public rally, Motorvate Melbourne. Whilst we were very pleased to see 10 000-plus people here yesterday, there were more than 16 500 people at the rally on Saturday calling for the establishment of a purpose-built drag strip in Victoria. "

"Many would be aware that about five years ago I raised the issue of the need for a professional drag-racing facility in Victoria. We are the only state that is lacking in this area. New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia all have purpose-built international standard drag strips. Victoria used to be the drag-racing capital of Australia and is renowned as the sporting capital of Australia. "

"That 16 500 people were at the rally on Saturday is a strong indication of the need for a professional drag-racing facility in Victoria. "

"I was very pleased to be in a Top Fuel drag car as they fired it up. The 8000-horsepower car was quite awesome, and to lie across a Top Fuel bike was interesting. I thank Gary Miocevich and Tony Thornton from ANDRA very much. It was a great rally all round. "

We need to keep the support for this cause going and try to get it in front of as many people as possible, I used to race at the Perth Motorplex all the time when i lived there and loved every minute of it!

When i discovered that VIC didn't have a track I decided there was no point bringing my car over as there was no where to use it and in the end it was just sitting in a Shed in WA so I sold it, when i heard that there was even the slightest chance Vic would get a track I decided to get a new project which is currently in progress and it will majorly suck if there is no where to race it when it is done, whats the point of building a car if you cant use it?

I agree, the situation is pretty bad. Victoria needs a proper drag racing facility more than any state as they always had Calder Park, so you can imagine the amount of cars and frustrated people sitting around unable to do what they love.

Something needs to be done.

Keep fighting guys!

http://www.youtube.com/inpitlane

Remember, tell your friends what the GOVERNMENT is doing, and persuade them into joining the cause... We need a track!!!! The only way something will happen is if they lose votes!

Go look at the photos from Winternationals and get excited for what we could have!
