Cheers its staying unflared. I decided that a while back now.

The front is sitting how i like it for now it has 195 60 14 on a 7 inch hotwire . I have some slightly lower rear springs thay i will put in when i do the diff in a few months... have to pay off the gearbox and rego first.

The rears are currently 205 60 14 on a 8 in hotwire. I really want the rear at least 3 inches lower than it is now. When the rears come up for new tyres ill go 205 65 14 i think to try and match the front. But because of the rims offset i still think it would hit the guard.

Heres a pic of the rear

Also have been offered some cheap 13" armourlites? Cheap so they may be a future option

And with the grill, i want to put some mesh behind the centee section as in person you can see through it and i hate the look so black mesh will hide that.

Sorry to give you bad news Steve, but you're going to have to pull it out and start again.

Judging by the position of your gear knob, you've put the box in backwards!!

haha, just kidding mate.

Great work so far, it will feel like a different car once your done, and hopefully be a bit more reliable.

This is the console done for now until i can find a better console

So with the conversion i still have to wire the black wire to the box, get the pedals and fit them , get the clutch cable, fit tail shaft, get and fit clutch dust cover, put the starter and extractors back in then hopefully adjust the clutch and off i go.

Make sure you use acrylic paint to touch it up or it will be a bugger when you can afford to do it / get it done properly.

You can get a spray pac can made up to match your paint.

Steve, the black wire on the TCS switch on the gearbox connects to the cold feed switch mounted in the cylinder head.

Before we go any further with this, what engine is in your UC? Is it the original or a replacement with all the anti pollution gear on it?

If there is no anti pollution gear on your engine, which I'm suspecting there isn't, then you'll have nothing to connect the black wire to so just remove it from the box and forget about it.

Cheers

Dave.

Have you taken her for a spin yet?

Something about a manual is so much better...not sure what it is, maybe its cause I don't like being told what to do?

I'll change gears when I want to thanks!

You've done well mate.

I had a 3.9 in my brown UC , a great ratio every time a cop went passed ,I would look down and find I was doing the speed limit .
A bit limiting on the highway for high speeds but it was still economical and went well with 13" wheels . You have done a great job and stuck at it , I haven't said much but always checkout your thread , keep up the good work .

The 173 would sit on 110 OK , only about 3500 RPM , less if you have 14's . You are in a good position to try it and see what you think , the 3.9 in it's range will be like having a more powerful motor .

Sanded the side back and sprayed some paint on them to cover up what the protechot strips pulled off. I need it to look respectable so i dont get pulled over.

Fitted a shorter shifter today that is a lot tighter and the spring actually works.

Couple of questions

First can i fit my drums to the disc diff ? As i dont have the money to reco the calipers yet.

And second will a centre console out of another car fit the layout in a uc as i want a one peice console.

If you want to fit the drum brakes you have to use the drum axles as well - the disc axles are shorter to allow for the disc thickness.
