thanks fellas ,it is a neat one, im interested to know all about it, being an old torana man from the 70's, I'm just saving to do a few things like put the aussie back in it, a lsd, xu1 muffler, and a mate can get some 8 and 9 inch sprintmasters for it, then maybe a paint change, yellow ,maybe. no rush just enjoying it so far.

When exactly was it bought and roughly where from?

I know of a car that looks very similar. I haven't seen it for about 18 months. Was a very good XU-1 copy running a JL with triple webbers. But this has a HP you say so maybe not??

Not really sure its only been in Tassie 2 years,
the engine receipts are dated 2002 for a 202
full rebuild, but the engine is a 179 now, also been
looking and the front end has two holes for the top
arms and the front stone tray is the proper xu1 type,
thanks.

Some info has come to light on this car, great work from vicroads,
i rang the number for rego checks and for 13 dollars they have sent
me all the rego/engine/ chassis numbers going back to the first time
it was reg.
The car /chassis was first reg in vic jan 1973, the engine numbers
starts with CDxxxxxxx
that being a 173HC so its a replica as i thought, that's ok with me, but
the tags don't belong on it, no adr one, but the others i'll take off to
stop any future rip offs. the tag with 82911 and the sunburst gold
colour might be off someones car, i would think not many
sunburst gold gtr's/xu-1 were around. Any thoughts on this.
It was originally brown then green and then blue in the 80's,
the hp engine was put in the car between1986- 1995, great info to
know what it was.
