Does anyone know the following measurements for a 173 piston:
-pin height
-pin diameter
-are they flat or dish top?
-if they are dished how many cc's?

Pin diameter: 0.866 - 0.8863
Pistons are dished.

That's all the info I have in front of me.

do they have the same compression height as a 186? do they use the same conrods as a 186? what is the volume of the dish?

Most Holden 6 pistons sit the same depth down the boe.
Unsure of the dish volume.
All Holden 6 have the size conrod, but some ( XU-1 and starfire 4 ) are stronger than others.
