Sorry man thats confusing to. No idea what your on about?

What im mostly confused about is why 2k was even mentioned???

At first the post is heading along a reasonable path, then suddenly were talking about 2k's and everyone gets confused.

Same with etch in 2k systems is both an adhesive thing and an anti corrosive thing...But fair enough. See by this point i assumed we were talking about 2k because they were being spoken about the sentence before. I #@$^%& up apparently...

With acrylics Etch seems to be a fair bit less important, mostly an adhesive thing and definitely doesnt have much anti corrosive properties...Which is what you have said.

This is only caused by a few reasons, 1. some one has painted a 2 pac clear over acrylic to escape buffing (this is ok to areas not exposed to extended UV light), 2. too much hardner is mixed into 2 pac clear or excessive base coat colour coats will cause clear coat to delaminate causing the clear to peel.

That is where i got confused, what does that have to do with Acrylic primer cracking, which is what the thread is about?

But, im usually the last person to get up someone for grammar/punctuation, god knows im no good at it. So seeing though thats basically what it was i APOLOGIZE (In big bold letters so no one can get up me for trying to hide it), as i should have asked you to clear up your post before saying anything.

Peace.
Cheers.

I reckon Bomber and Pete are spot on.

The only other time I've had this, is where it disolved the old paint, or I'd cut through it on the edge of a panel, and slipped under some old bog where rust had formed under it from not being keyed in properly. That was a weird one off though.

Had to sand it back, which lead to discovering the old bog.

I've also had weird effects with tack rag residue and acrylic primers. I changed to tack rag first, followed by a wipe down with wax and grease remover. I used to tack rag last. Fixed that problem.

Ranting....

hi pat
the trick with tack rags is to leave them out for a day or two to let some of residue dry out ,i try and stand clear from using wax and grease remover on niki work as every one knows thats niki soaks it up ,a strong air blower and a old tack rag does the trick for me and i never had promblem doing this way,

I was always taught to use GP thinners over fillers where possible....Havnt had a problem doing that either.

Never thought to leave a tack rag out, i have a habit of putting them back in there bags.

Will try that, cheers mate!
