Hi,

Just thought I would share some pics of my new project, the ex-Lazi8 torana, I recently bought the chassis off a mate of mine. I have a solid roller cammed 355 Chev that should make in the upper end of the 500Hp range and I am looking to add a pretty decent hit of giggle gas. It will take a while tho as everything is so damn expensive when you go this stupid :D

Does anyone know how hard it is to run front and rear LX sheet metal?

Here are some pics

Gees thats a serious project but im sure it will be worth it. Im curious were the scum who degraded the car into this condition ever found? I sure hope so and hope they are nowhere near anyones pride and joy ever again

I am hoping with the rears that I will be able weld the whole light section in, for the front I have heard that I need to change the radiator support. For me it is probably going to be worth the change to LX due to the value difference at the end of the project.

Not sure if they have done anything with the guys that took it, but it was traced back to someones property. It isn't fire damaged , it is body deadner. I am getting it exactly as found.

It is a serious (and expensive project) I am planning a sheetmetal diff, QA1 coilovers, transbraked glide, wilson manifolds ntrous kit etc etc. All I have at the moment is a shell and an engine.

b.t.w. if anyone wants to buy a tubbed HG holden: http://www.qldstreet...showtopic=14243

Does anyone know of a soda blaster (that does cars) in brisbane.

The UC front isnt that bad at all, nice modern looking thing (its grown on me). The tail lights on the other hand are terrible. A few nice mods poeple have done is either lx tail lights, or early commo tail lights look right at home. Theres a thread on here somewhere with pics of commo lights on a uc.

Somthing to think about anyway :).

I've got a set of N.O.S. LX and UC hatch rear 1/4 panels, but I'm in Melbourne and the car is in Brissy.

I won't go to the effort of changing quarter panels as the factory ones have been stretched to fit a bigger tire, if that is what needs to be done the UC ones can stay in there

does anyone have a link to the post with the commodore ones, there is no full forum search (that I can see) and I wouldn't know where to start. I am planning on building this thing to make the top60 hall at the summernats so it needs to look good. Anyone know a good bank I can rob? :D

I'd be led to believe that the member LS1LX might know something about it :P

Can't say I've ever seen his vehicle though so I may be way off.

I would rather the stock UC tail lights than that. However, when the car is finished it may look better.

I'm with Chopper personally. I don't dislike the standard UC tail lights any more than I dislike the seperated LJ tail lights. And if you were to replace them, I would have done it differently, but that's just me. They look like they're off some sort of oldschool Mazda or Mitsubishi to me.

If I were building a showcar I'd go something pretty wild i expect.

You could even just get lights like what they put on the back of some Tonners and trucks etc, just those rounded-squares if you wanted to be different. Just photoshop a few things on there and see what looks good...

I personally would prefer aftermarket trailer lights.
