You'll see a marked drop in your times
Also make sure you weld it up so your not single wheeling
And get some nice sticky gumballs for the back (slicks prefferably)

yes it has large backs, 205/60/15's. and yes, it goes well on the highway. i was holding it in third for the whole quarter, passing the traps at 5100 rpm, and i pulled damb near 80mph doing that. i have had her up to a tad over 100mph on the highway (ssssshhhhhh) and she was still pulling fairly well. not bad for what she is really.
i am currently saving up for a welder, then when i get that (soon) i will begin saving up for my new driveline. three months that should all be sitting in the shed slowly going in hopefully. will consist of a w58 supra box, spooled 3.55 volvo diff, tweaked suspension, and atm looks like 245/50/14's on the back. tyre size isn't confirmed yet though...those particular ones are worth $250 each so i might try to find something cheaper.
after having done that i'll take it back with the current motor and try to get into the mid 16's or so. then a few months more i should have the 202 all set up and will be shooting for 14's....then i'll hook up the giggle gas....
basicaly i hope to be running high 13's within the next 12 months. dont' know if i will or not but i'll give it my best shot.

Changing the diff ratio will make it faster for et but shouldn't change mph
Ideally for drags you want to be pulling max rpm in top at the finsih line (theoretically)
This doesn't translate to a nice daily driver though.

and yeah, i realize the only thing that will really change the mph is engine power, and while im' on that anyone wouldent happen to have a calculator to get a guestimate of my cars hp at the tyres from that mph by any chance??? i'm thinking 90-100???

My UC with 3.08:1 diff and a blown exhaust valve on cylinder 1 in the 202 only managed 17.8 down the strip, not bad for a busted ass motor, but im really impressed with your 173!! Fortunately now i have a worked 179HP which is in the 14's, so i cant complain!
Keep practising mate you'll see 16's with the 173!
