I saw an offset centre scoop on an HZ in the 80's. Looked pox. A super wide centrally mounted scoop would probably look batter, but also cost a lot more.

i had 350 holley setup where i enclosed the filter and then fed it fresh air from 2 ducts under the front bumper (brake ducts) = pressurised air box.
worked well and no holes in bonnet

just another option...

Have two bonnets, have two air filter elements, have two screws.

EDIT: Or Brett's suggestion

On my old LC 4dr i used to run another bonnet with a small hornet scoop off to the side with a filter through it......mind you this was nearly 10yrs ago and i'm positive you won't get any real performance benefit from it, and the question of it will look any good is up to you. If you like it then go for it, if not another option like a Cold Air Induction set-up to the front of the car might be a better option.

An air filter through the bonnet always looks tough to me, but some bonnet scoops can be a little tacky looking, i'll try and dig out some old photos of my LC and scan them.

I hope someone can prove me wrong here but I have always found off centre scoops and air filters popping through bonnets to be a tad off looking.
I have not seen many and this might just be because I have not looked hard enough or some people have similar thoughts to me and just don't like the look they give!
Perhaps I like things centered :)

i sold one of my cam gears to a bloke with a 6-71 hanging off the side of an rb30 in an altered.
thing was tuff, ran either low 10 or 9 sec 1/4. but things in the centre look so much better....

I disagree. Scoops can look okay offset, just not on Toranas.

Air filters and superchargers look sweet offset, just don't cover them with plastic or glass and it'll be right... just not legal.
