G'day All,
For something different! Might be a silly question but I will be taking my LX SLR 5000 down to Heathcote next month (weather permitting of course) to see what times it will pull & because I have never dragged before I was wondering what ball park timings I should expect to get. For those who went down last month for the forum meet, mine was the Papaya one.
The Tory has the following running gear -
1. 350 fwhp 308 (dynoed) with extractors
2. Muncie 4 speed
3. 9 inch diff with 3.0 diff gears
4. Standard carby
5. Electronic ignition etc etc.
I know many factors have to be considered like -
a. weather
b. tyre pressures
c. reaction times etc etc.
The car will be driven down (from Wodonga) & the exhaust won't be dropped & will be be dragged with street tyres.
When I get back I will post my times & the closest one will be the winner & the prize (dont worry it will half decent) will be posted out to you so give it your best shot. Here's a picture of the car - if it worked out.

13.9... depends how you drive too. That diff ratio won't help you regardless though.

Thanks for that Tiny.
For everyone concerned lets go to hundreds of a second to find the winner. ie 13.18 instead of 13.1. Let the drag racing games begin.

You didnt give any torque figures with you little write up.
HP and running gear similar to mine but I have like 2.7:1 9inch diff
I have run a PB of:
E.T: 13.737
M.P.H: 102.86

So being a first timer and all I will go with 14.12 @ 100mph
This was my PB on my first outing!!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm pretty sure I'll have some serious fun. Will be getting the car back from the motor rebuilder around the end of the month. I then have to do 1000 km's running the motor in then I'll be off to Heathcote. Will let you all know how I went & who the lucky winner is.
