I'd suggest the black LJ would be most popular (more ljs) but the LC ones are considerably rarer.

There seems to be alot more LJ ones floating about! I have been keeping an eye out for a set of LC ones but haven't seen any on ebay for quite some time.

I would say that LC centre caps are harder to find but LJ caps would probably be a bigger seller!

I've not heard of anyone making repros before. Not saying its not the case though.
I'd hate to be paying for a tool to whack those out for such a limited market.
I know from experience that the tool to make the triangular emboss in the heatshields I make was over $500.

I have some caps and there are at least 3 different lion emblems each having about the same difference as shown in the previous picture.

Of all I have I will check which is the most common. When it comes to making them, I would suggest the most common type would be the way to go as the new ones will match a larger existing market.

LJ tail lamp surrounds are not as easy as you think the material is the biggest problem (getting it in smaller quantities that is the problem) and also some one to make them, I will have more news around the end of May early June on them and LC LJ head lamp rims.

Les, I think to sell more, you need to cater for both LC and LJ - the difference is only in the colour surrounding the Lion logo. In addition, whereas I believe that repro LJ GTR wheel nuts are available, if you also made LC GTR 'acorn' wheel nuts available, they would probably sell well as a package (then add the dress rings, etc etc  )

The caps would need to be accurate and strong around the cutouts for the wheel nuts though - the originals tend to get mashed in between the nut and the rim when tightening up the wheel nuts, which makes them not fit so well.

Also, to expand the market a little, the cap is very similar to that used on the HK/T/G GTS 14" wheel trims. The only difference that I am aware of is that the GTS ones didn't have cutouts for the wheel nuts - they had circular pads in these areas with a small hole in the centre of each pad, so that the centre cap could be screwed into the 14" wheel trim. Because the whole 14" trim comes off as one piece though, the GTS ones don't seem to get as damaged as the GTR ones, so you may not sell as many GTS ones. Still worth a bit of research though.

If you get stuck, I can probably supply samples of LC, LJ and GTS Monaro caps and LC GTR wheel nuts. I'm pretty sure I have some of each in storage somewhere.

Thanks Dangerous
I will check the section where the wheel nut goes, I do not think we can do better; but it wont hurt to investigate that problem. The wheel nuts are available part number
WN1002A for 1 or WN10045 for 5. The wheel trim is also a good idea which I will follow up. The centre cap for the Monaro may have the same lion but the dimensions are different and the angles also differ, I will have another look we may be able to make a compromise that is not that visible to the naked eye
Thanks again
Les
