There is Historic Touring Cars with the normal flock of XU1's , and Improved Production has at least 3 Torana's racing. An LJ, LH and LX Hatch.
Worth a look if you can make it.
Vic State Series this weekend.

I think Geoff Taylor rolled the LJ in race 1 of the historics.
One of the improved production Toranas broke an axle (Ford) on the line and that was the end of his weekend.

Ray Hislop owns that car... he is an ex Tassie V8 Supercar driver. The car is an EBGT Falcon and basically has a V8 Supercar type engine and set up but built to IPRA specs. etc. The car has reportedly over 600hp and is an absolute weapon in a straight line... I have seen in car footage of it at Oran Park back in 2003 at the IPRA Nationals. He was on the front row and he stalled it the start... no one hit him, but about 20 cars got past him... the next few laps were amazing... he could pass 3 cars easily each time he would come onto the main straight....I heard that the falcon from tassie is a bit of an animal

Was talking to a guy at work last night who was crewin for one of the cars.
I think the car he was workin on came second for the meeting??
He was sayin they could catch him in the corners but down the straight...ppfffttt
no chance.
Also i think all the fuel, oil and shock oil lines were worth more than the car that came second!!!
Sounds like they had an enjoyable weekend over there and the racing was good!
