currently i have an aluminium seat for the driver. as they are made to fit the person sitting in it, i dont want to use one for the passenger and restrict who can fit in it.

then i thought about just getting a sporty jap seat from like a prelude, mx5 or similar.
anyone know the typical weight of one these things? (or the lightest)

i have seen seats out of a switf GTi in a torana, I think MODINIZED (sp?) has them in his car. have you thought about a "racing" seat from Autobarn? they seem reasonably priced

i have the autobarn catalogue in front of me and the cheapest seat in there is a SAAS one, thats $329..

thats the SA catalogue but it would probably be the same or similar in other states..

Wait for a half decent sale or see if they can do any better than that. I dunno what your budget is but as I know you're handy with the welder etc just find anything you like and bolt it onto the standard Torana seat rails. Engineer will have to have a look at it but I'm sure the rest of your car will need to be looked over too.

If you're buying one seat by itself you can probably get it relatively cheap... just one that someone doesn't want.

theyre not that light but theyre lighter than a Torana seat. Ive had to raise it up by 2inches i think to get it back to proper height.

I used N13 sss pulsar seats and the fit beautifully. they fit on the original torana rails so there's no eng certs they have that wrap around sports look and they are very comfortable. I paid 180 for a perfect set about three years ago.

Brett I'd have to say around the 20-30 kg weight off the to of my head. They were fairly light. It's been a while since I've had them out the car.
Hope this helps.
Chris.

Chris, are they the seats you have in your car (uniquely retrimmed of course) or do you just have Torana seats?
