You can run the Manual pump.

 

It isn't actually a lobe, its what they call the fuel pump eccentric.

Its a bolt on metal ring that bolts onto the main bolt of the cam when you bolt the timing gear on.

 

The really late holden v8's also don't have the cut out in the timing cover, so you would have to cut it out, or replace it with an older style timing cover.

Fuel Pump Eccentric.

 

Only comes on models with a Mechanical pump.

Thanks heaps for the help!! Might be easier to put an electric pump on there I think.. The engine is fully installed into the car now. I'm running a 650dp carby, do you know if a standard electric pump would keep enough pressure up to that carby by any chance? Thanks again :)

under wot no it probably wouldnt the stock pump runs at about 4 psi the high pressure(or l34) 7 psi which is what i have on my 304 with 6fiddy dp Holley..Goss still make them and also kits which has a heavy sprung diaphram and hi flow valves..

question.. Would a standard vs 304 with tri y pacemakers (manual) make more power with a harrop/torque pwr manifold & holley/speed demon carby?

Been searching online. but all the links lead to 355 strokers
