On the way back from soccer yesterday i got done doing 74 in a 60 zone, 3 points and $150. Im still on my P's due for my opens on the 28th may.
About 2 years ago i got done doing 112 in a 100 zone so i lost 1 point.
So that means ive lost my license?
But a few people have told me that if you lose any points on a P license you get them back after a year. If so im safe.. ill still have 1 left. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
I found this:
"If four or more demerit points are recorded against your traffic history in a one year period while you are holding a Queensland learner or provisional licence, you will be sent an Accumulation of demerit points-notice to choose."
Taken from:
http://www.transport...r_demeritpoints
So i think i may be ok? Does anyone know for sure?

The girls / guys on the enquiry counter are generally not ogres and only to willing to help. This way you will not be subject to what people think, you WILL have the facts

The QLD Transport site makes it very clear just what the process is.
The rules say:
If four or more demerit points are recorded against your traffic history in a one year period
It is obvious that a rolling 12 months condition applies. Any points lost prior to 12 months from any assessment date are not included in the four or more limit. Or only the points lost during the 12 months from your most recent loss count.
It is not so much an issue of getting them back as it is they no longer figure in any assessment.
If you have just lost 3 points you have no spare ones left. The one you think you have is one too many as it will put you on the limit of four for which the big decision is required. So you are in the position of self imposed good behaviour while driving for one year.
I do hope you are SAFE and can remain so. Slower speeds make it even safer.

Not sure with Ps A1, BUT!! I have your solution.
DO NOT! I repeat! DO NOT PAY THE FINE until after the 28th May, then you will have your full license and nine points left. Little known fact that you do not lose the points until the bill is paid. Done it twice to keep my license. I think it is 28 days then they give you a reminder notice and 7 days...that should get you over the line.

Points lost are points lost regardless of licence category. The category of licence means only different numbers are used before penalties are imposed.
Points lost on a P licence will still count in any 12 month period, regardless of the category held at the time of accounting.
This simply follows the rules given as points lost with an interstate licence are still recorded against the licence holder. The individual State rules apply when assessing penalty limits.

The rolling 12 months to use 4 points applies as stated above.
When you go to your opens, it will be on full 12 points - seen heapps of guys go through it.
Mr little bro got done 6 points in my LC Torana 2 weeks before he got his opens - he just had to go chat to the traffic super who promptly gave him his licence with full 12 points because he was so close to getting them anyway.
Rory, Qld changed that loophole about 3 years ago - the points now go from the date of offence, not when you pay it. (or so they tell me anyway)
The interstate thing will still get you off the hook if you are sited a ticket by an officer and pay it before overdue but the cameras still get you interstate.

And you lose points at the time/date of the offence, not when you pay it (i live in qld and ex-gf's bro is a copper)...

If you do happen to lose your licence its easy to get it back in court anyway, all you need is a letter from your employer stating you will lose income without your licence and they will nearly always give your licence back. (provided you are only caught speeding and no reckless/dangerous driving aswel.)

Then they stuffed it up by hooking up computers and making me select only one license.
Ahh! The good ole days!!
