I want to fit a front swaybar to my LX again (removed the old one years ago after fitting chev extractors).
In terms of all-out handling/performance, which style of front swaybar is better - a front-mount bar or the more traditional rear-mount bar? What are the pro's and con's of each?
What brands are available and what's the best one to go for?? I assume 24mm is about the standard size.
With my extractors, I don't think I can fit a rear mount front swaybar, even if I tried spacing it down, so will probably have to go for a front-mount setup (even though I don't like all the extra brackets and stuff)... but I'd be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on any setup that is available.
Cheers all.

i have one of the front mounted whiteline bars, its 30mm in diameter and its a damn site better than the rear mounted ones, probably because its thicker, but its fairly easy to fit and works like a dream.
i got it second hand for $100 so im not sure what they retail for, but as far as handling goes this is the one i would suggest.
its aparently a competition sway bar ... it does sit a bit lower than i would like, but if you have a front spoiler it wont be lower than that! - have problems with it scraping on car park cement blocks .... also would depend how low your car is too i suppose.
you can see it in this pic, just behind the number plate.

I was happy with my pedders front mount, but when it goes back on the car I am going to fab some different mounting brackets because I think the old ones were flexing a bit, theyre pretty well farked now tho!

Cheers guys.
Sammy - when you say it's pretty easy to fit, is there any drilling or welding of any sort involved? Or is it purely a straight bolt-up job? I've never played with a front mount bar before, only seen pics on these forums... I've always had rear mounts bars in the past...

mine was a "straight" bolt up, I had to drill a couple of holes in the lower control arms and enlargen some of the holes in the supplied brackets

Hey makka, could you get some pics of the fitting when you're doing it?
I wouldn't mind a front mount as my extractors are VERY close.

The K-Mac front mount bar is bolt on. Drilling is required to mount droplink brackets to the lower wishbones.
