You might want a bit taller edge around the hole so that any water goes around it and into the drain rather than into the heater
good point, thanks. I'll make a ring to weld in. I'll try to make it as high as I can without it hitting the plenum cover panel.

You can see how high it's been raised so I've got quite a bit of room under the dash now (I'm not sure what for though)
Can anyone see any potential problems? Any comments or criticisms are welcome.
Oh, the streaks in the paint are because I used a paint brush.
