hi all
Ive been pm'd a few times asking about my car so far so i thought Id put it on here for you all to check out. Its a budget machine ( mainly ebay parts ) that ive been working on for about 6 years and is getting pretty close to complete.

heres a video of it running and driving ( about 5 meg )
http://home.exetel.c...rana/torana.wmv

Heres a run down on the car
Motor:
nothings been done to the motor ( except double head gaskets ), bought it from a mate for 25 bucks after he got it rebuilt and then decided he wanted a 350 chev. He was going to take it to the dump. Its really a test mule, as Ive never had anything to do with supercharging

What size is the blower ? Not sure, there is no brand name on the outside but I pulled it apart to check the bearings and there is MPD cast inside it? Did a google search and found nothing on this brand so im not sure. Can anyone help? The manifold is a redline unit milled down with a alloy plate chemically glued to the manifold for the supercharger to bolt to.I also made a pulley bracket to go off the alternator bracket, and a pulley to bolt to the harmonic balancer, so its a real homebrew combo.

how does it go? Not sure? took it for a test drive down the street but took it easy as its the first time iv edriven the car for 6 years after replacing most everything. So i cant say if its reliable, or effecient ( dont really care about effeciency )

Ive got a high pitched squeal at the moment and i thought it was coming from the supercharger, so i pulled it apart and started it again tonight but its still there. Ive a sneaking suspicion its a gasket in the 600 holley, sucking air.

Brakes:
Front stubs are hq with wb brakes and hq discs and 7X15 simmons
rear is nine inch narrowed two inches with hq drums and hq pattern and 8X15 simmons
See here for front brake mods

Interior Guages

Next up is a drop tank and the interior, then off to the engineers to see whats good and whats not so good.

Cheers Julian

Nice cant wait to see it all finished and how the final outcome is.... U could always stroke the 253 like i have and get a few extra cubes!

Does the blower fit comfortable under the bonnet?

does it fit? almost. The front pulley will hit the bonnet so i need to fabricate something to cover it and the carb sticks out. Im after a bonnet to test on first so if anyone has one on the central coast pm me.

Ive also got an old air sensors fuel injection setup ( electronic carby ) that will give me a bit more clearance if needed. The holley is a bit easier to test with though.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. This is a great website, and if I had not found it I would have probably given up.

I finally found the high pitched squeal ive been looking for. ( only taken a month )
after pulling oil pumps, fuel pumps, fan belts, supercharger bearings, apart I finally found a gasket between the carb and carb spacer to be blown out.

bgucking stoked to have finally found it!
Have fitted new gaskets, and will start it again tomorrow and tune my thermo fan into the right temp.

cheers julian
