loooks sweet as
needs some period mags but
gts rims would be nice but i've always thought the dragway/cragar 5 spoke style suits this model better

Get rid of that awful wagon rear bar, and fit some GTS mirrors. And GTS rims, or if you want to be period correct but cheaper track down some HZ N67 alloys - these were standard on Sandman and GTS after about 8/78, also fitted as standard to SL/E Statesman. White Sandman utes are one of my favourites, especially HJ but HZ look good too.

There is a photo of an original white late 1978 HZ Sandman ute on my website. Just scroll down to the HZ section.

Do this, do that. Those wheels look alright to me. As someone said earlier it could do with a chunkier exhaust and maybe to be a couple of inches closer to the ground. Good work though. Fantastic transformation in a short time.

The only issue is if something protrudes beyond the rim.

So if your U bolts hand lower than the lip of the rim (so if you were to have a fully flat tyre they would drag on the ground) then thats a no no (well in NSW)

but apart from that I think its all good.
