Hoppers Stoppers do a front kit with a 296 MM vented front disc and new PBR calipers with the stud pattern of your choice for $1100.

I've done the Hoppers conversion. Very pleased with the results. You can look at what I've done here: Restoration

Go to Modifications and look at the front brake conversion page.

Does anyone know if this kit fits behind 15" simmons B45's? I heard that because they are a three piece wheel that there isn't enough clearance with 15s. I'm just not sure that I like the look of 16" wheels on a Torana.

You need an 8 MM spacer for the 15" Simmons to fit. The problem is the bolts they use to hold the rim together foul on the brakes. The other problem is the legality of the spacer.

Is it true that the Hoppers Kit brings your wheels outwards towards the guards due to this kit.
Therefor if you had a set of big feet on the front with close clearance you would need an offset to have the same wheels.

Any truth to this.

Was it 06rip & japxu1 who bolted on the 290mm discs & calipers, that would fit the 15in simmons.

i heared that the older kits moves the wheel 15mm outwards, but that they now can do you one that leaves the wheel in its original position.

Hoppers does 2 kits
The +8mm Torana kit..... this is their standard kit and this is what you WILL be supplied unless you specifically ask for the 0 offset kit

And of course the 0 offset kit.

Due to low wheel availability in anything reasonably sized in Torana pattern, most people use Commodore pattern and wheels. Hence the kit with the +8 offset.

Most 8 MM spacers are illegal. Unless you permanently affix it to the hub, then it becomes legal.

It's OK, I live in the UK and the Torana is over here with me. The local authorities don't know what a standard Torana looks like so I can moddify away if I am carefull to make it look standardish. So if anyone askes, 290mm brakes, tremec 5 speed, 9", drop tank and a supercharged small block are all stock OK?! Well the supercharger might give it away...

The Torana is based an the Vauxhall, so don't get too carried away. I have a photo of one I saw here in Melbourne. It's a 73 model and looks like an LJ with quad square head lights and oddball tail lights. If the Poms can win back the Ashes, then maybe they're not all as stupid as we thought.

I asked Peter from Hoppers as well, he said approx 10mm so I guess 8mm it is.
I never knew that they had the 0 offset option though.

Simmons 15 and 16" rims wont fit. Gotta go 17/18 with simmons unless you space it and have a huge backspacing, like posted above.
