Gday all. The other day i put some 14" steelies on my LJ. Looked pretty awesome, but didnt quite fit. Is there anything i can do to make them fit (apart from mini-tubbing)?

The wheels i used were - 205/70 Firestones. Do you reckon a lower profile tyre, such as a Bridgestone Eager, would fit?

My freind has had 15inch wheels on his LC (dragway draglites) so I guess with a lower profile tyre they should fit your LJ.

Sweeet. Did your friend's LC have any mods to the inside of the wheel arched? Flared Guards, Rolled Lips etc etc

You probably had the wrong offset. Before I tubbed mine I had 225 or 235 on 14in rims & they just fit in the wheel arch but would scrape on the spare wheelwell that required some tapping with a big hammer.

i run 205/60/14s on my LC
i've tried a variety of combos just to see what will fit
here are some results
245/50/14 on 8"rim to wide on 7"rim is right on the limit (possible cop bait)
on a 6" rim sits in nicely but is tight fit
the rims i used are standard HT holden rims ie:+30 offset
235/60/14 on 6" rim sits in and clears everything exept where mudflap screws to wheelarch very little clearance
215/65/14 on &" rim had the same results

225/50/15 on Ht offset 15x7" mag fit nice on back but on front may attract the cops attention but i recon a 205/55/15 on the front would fix that

hope this helps tom

RIM, the 205/70/14 is a very large diameter tyre, almost all 14inch tyres are smaller diameter.
