It could be, but how could you tell without looking at the build plate?
The sunbird ashtray, the cloth seats? but against: the chrome grille(torana) satin for sunbird and the interior door trims(s model, bare sills) not consistent with cloth seats in an sle sunbird or uc deluxe....all bolts on that could have been changed

yeah sunbird ash tray. bare tops of doors instead of vinyl covering. no outer door strips. no chrome around the tail lights. no black outs around tail lights sill and around tops of door frames. little brake booster chrome miror instead of gts style ect ect. could be an S model but then it wouldnt have the chrome around the tops of the doors either. but what ever it is. its still a neat uc torana

Looks awesome! Is it Atlantis Blue? I have one front fender in that colour. Enought to make we want to do the whole car in it!

Interceptors also look just brilliant.

Interesting treatment to the front end, with the black. From side on, does it follow the line of the sill?

Can you drive it without the front bumper, 'cos it looks sweet as without one.

One last Q! Your grille. Its a Sunbird paint scheme. Did you redo it yourself or is it original? If you did it, what silver
and black paints (actual brand etc) did you use?

Great job. I bet it goes like the clappers. Would you say a V8 eater?

Yeah it's claimed it's fair share of 8s. the black follows the sill, funny u say that about the bumper. I also like it without one but had few ppl say it looks like something missing. Colour is Atlantis blue metallic with a bit of prismatec pearl thrown in and I bought the grill off eBay, I would have preferred a chrome grill but they are few n far between

Leakey,
In members projects in the UC 5000 topic page 1 there are a couple more pics. I will take a couple of the interior, engine, underneath and post in the next day or so.

I must admit I have always prefered the LX hatch over the UC but I couldnt pass this one up when it became available, I have warmed to the look of the front end but like most, the

back end not so much. It is a treat to drive though, handles well and having 5th gear is tops.

I have to stick my hand up as owning a UC along with my LX, It's from the dealer original, My grandfather bought it new and was passed down to me when he passed away as I already had a few toranas and the grandfather thought I would appreciate it which I do. So I have the original hubcaps, GMH build sheet and original reciepts and log book all filled out. A bit torn whether i keep it original or do the UC HDT concept in a sedan with 19" irmschers etc..... Photos of both when I get around to it. Sadly the LX became mine when Dad passed away as well so although I have two Toranas I didn't actually buy either of them.

Great looking car Mark. And as Stinga pointed out, those covers work really well. I have seen a black hatch with those too.
The colour coded door handles also work very well.

My 'budgie is red also, but no where near as nice as your machine. I have a ways to go.

Oh, welcome to the forums.

- Mark (another thing we have in common!)

Thanks guys. Have only had this for a month or so after nearly 30 years of nagging my uncle he finally sold it to me. It has simmons 15's on it with 205/50 on the front and 225/50 on the back. Paintwork is original.

hi again,
just got my mod plate done and full exhaust on my UC. Sounds unreal now.
here is a link to a video I did before the pipes. I have just installed new carpet and looks great.

http://www.youtube.c...omment_received

and some pics of underbody whilst on hoist and I was as surprised as mech to find it so clean.

Passed RWC no probs.
