Hey Guys, haven't shown any update on the old girl in a while so thought i'd put some pics up. Engine Bay has been tidied up a little aswell as the Interior and also whacked a 9 inch rear (3.7 Mini-Spool) in it as banjo's are getting scarce. I now have a set of 8 inch slicks which will go on next drag meet to make things interesting, also added a pro-comp Multiple spark ignition system and coil, and a Y/T Steel Explosion Proof Flywheel.

Someone asked for a video clip in a different topic so theres one here of a few bits and pieces, tryed to make it small so quality isn't the best but you can hear it and you get the gist.

Torana Video, Drags, ect.

Heres Some pics of the engine, Interior, Ect...

Cheers

Les

Engine bay is perfect, interior's beautiful as well. How fast does she pull down the quarter?

Thanks Guys, A lotta work but definately worth it, I've got a best of 13.5 out of it so far but still tuning and playing with things, so theres a bit more left in it yet especially with the slicks on I can really jump it off the line.

Steve - Im not real sure how to put stuff up on the net, Photobucket is about as far as I go but if someone will host it for me I can send it to you.

looks beautful! is it registered for normal road use? love the side exhaust, does that come out both sides or just the one? looks brilliant!

Not a bad time for a six that doesn't sound that wild, very interested in seeing how she goes with slicks and a bit of tuning. I guess the 9" has allowed you to boot it a bit more off the line too.

...is that exhaust legal?

TORANR ARMORE - Yeah No worries mate, Line me up against it!!!!

In Dett - Mph was 101.5 or 163kph

ToranaZ - Here's the Specs of the donk, had a fair bit of help as im best mates with a machinist, so things were a lot cheaper..... I think it's a 205, It's not a 208 as that is .060 thou over, mine is only .030 thou over.

Blue 202 Block, Acid Dipped, Crack Tested, Bored 0.030", Decked 0.004".
Crank Ground, Polished
ACL Race Series Bearings and Moly Rings
Starfire Rods, Hypertek Flat Top HQ race pistons 0.030"
High Energy Sump
39/79 Solid Crow Cam and Lifters, Works from around 3500 - 7000
Crow Straight Cut timing Gear
VK Electronic Distributor
Stage 3 Blue Motor Yella Terra Head, Matchported, Polished and shaved 0.060"
ACL Race Series Copper Head Gasket
Yella Terra Roller Rockers 1:5 ratio
45mm Dellortos on matchported Redline manifold
Pacemaker Extractors, Matchported, into 2 1/2in exhaust with 3 inch sidepipe.

It runs on straight Avgas, But on the street I have to use premium so I have to take the timing back to 3 degrees to stop it pinging.

They were the Specs of the motor when it ran the 13.5 second 1/4. Sinces then I've added a few things as in a Yella Terra Steel Explosion Proof Lightened Flywheel, a Pro-Comp Multiple Spark Ignition Unit and Pro-Comp PC-91 Coil. I've also had the carbys tuned as they were way out when I raced it and have also picked up a set of 8 inch slicks for that traction problem so now i should be able to really stick it into it off the line.

Just wondering, Has anyone watched the Vid??? Does it work?

Cheers

Les

that's looking the part les its come a long way since the last time i saw some pics of it.

how did you go against the white r31 skyline with the rb20t in it? that car was built by my house mate who is an apprentice motor mechanic about a year and a half ago. but i think its had 3/4 owners since then. he did the engine conversion blew up the turbo and then sold it off with a cheap front cut of unknown condition put into it. when he had it it had 18 wheels and race seats in it tho. that thing was pretty quick for the time effort and money he put into it (very little).

Thanks Guys

Red6 - The run against the white R31 was pretty bad actually and turned out to be the last of the day. I got off to a good start and was pulling away hard until I put it into 5th instead of 3rd  So i then grabbed 3rd and put it into 4th where it started breaking down really bad and spat the gear off the bottom of the dizzy!!! He ended up winning by a couple of tenths but it was a 15.5 second pass, so I should have really beat him by 2 seconds.

KeithyUC- Thanks Mate, It's a bit of a pig on the street mainly because of the driveline as im running a button Clutch and also a lightened flywheel which makes it worse and then theres the minispool. But I dont find it that bad really. I can easily put around in the city or around town without a problem, It never get's hot so I don't have to worry about that and carby's have been tuned basically so it doesn't eat plugs in town now either. If it was just the motor with all standard clutch, ect, it would be a dream to drive around town.

I haven't got any pics of the new sidepipe yet, which looks 100% better as it doesn't stick out as far and is an oval shape rather than round. Will try to get some later in the week.

Cheers

Les
