What is an army LJ Torana

in the late 70's I occasionally saw a Juniper LJ being used at the local army depot in a Perth suburb, it was perhaps being used for office staff or officer transport.
In recent years I have bought a Juniper LJ wreck ( Sept 73 ) which has a location where an identity tag might be attached, ( tag long gone ) does anyone know if the Army riverted tags on them like Holden did with the police XU-1's?
This tag ( if that is what it was ) was in a different location and larger than the Police ones, it is pictured below if it helps.
Any help appreciated, Mike

Mike,
you need to access the rego details of the vehicle to find out who the original registered owner was.
It will say Royal Australian Army for that time period I think.

Hi Grant,
in WA we do not have the benifit of being able to access details of previous owners ever since a witness in a Royal Commission was used for target practice after some misguided sole gave out his information.
Many states have a similar policy and any empolyee of the licencing branch who accesses this information can find them selves on a criminal charge.
Good Idea to check records, not very praticle though!

You should still be able to access previous registration details and if it was registered to anorganisation it will be shown. If it was registered to a person they will remove those details. I would suggest checking with transport to see what the go is these days.

Most states will not give you "personal details" but company details are different.

Thanks Grant I will try that, being close to Perth they may still have the records, country areas don't seem to have kept records as my other car owned by the police/local government was before the RTA and records don't seem to exist from all enquiries so far.
