my girl friend was wondering if there is any power difference/ increase between using triple 1.75 SU's vs triple stromberg? going on to a red 208 stage 3 head, XU1 cam,

Maybe investigate which have a better selection of needles available.

cheers for that information guys what do you think is a good price ruffly for a set of triple su's on a manifold. need to put a kit through them and get some linkages for them

^ about $130 - $200 (max) is all they're worth if not complete.
You're looking at about $100 for the kits.
If the throttle shafts are worn you'll be up for heaps more.
If they're complete ready to bolt on they're worth a lot more but if incomplete don't get sucked in.
I bought a set that needed to be finished off & with the hours I've spent sorting them out I'm glad I didn't pay a lot for them.
