LJ rear spoiler securing!

ok, i've decided a long time ago that i am definately putting the bobtail on my LJ, and i have found a cheap one on ebay. but before i rush ahead and buy it i was wondering how they are secured. he has replied to an email i sent asking wether or not it had any metal brackets to secure it with and it didnt. any responses greatly appreciated (this one ends in 10 hours)

little more info would be good there lakeside. are u saying the spoiler in general looks shit or it looks shit if it doesnt have mounting brackets?

I have an original one (I think?) I will take a pic and post tomorrow. It has steel brackets built into the fibreglass underneath from memory.

Sorry it took so long to get back on this. I had a look at mine and it "had" metal plates in the fibreglass but they have been removed. I veiwed it through the camera and thought better of taking a pic as is may have just confused.

Lexa, the non genuine style ones are held on with PK screws..as the boy said, bloody horrible! Get the one with 3 mounting bolts and brackets fibreglassed into the underside of the unit. A2 has them at Milton Spares, genuine copies. I have one on my race car. You would never know it was after market.

I paid $35 for mine but it is very ordinary and obviously has the brackets missing. There is a guy in Narre Warren Melb selling repo's and that is where mine came from. He maybe used mine as a sample for his repo's.
