I was just wondering how i should go about painting the center strip of an LC grille?

Should i get paint mixed that doesnt require a primer or buy some 1k and perhaps prime from a spray can?
Its only a small section so if the results are crap I can manually cut and polish it.

cheers ;)

VHT make a Satin black chip resistant paint that works fantastic for this application.Mask it up and then paint..No primer needed.Get it from auto :spoton: bahn etc.etc

to do it properly, mask the area, use about three or four runs of tape over the edges. then sand with 320 grit. mask first so you don't scuff the bits you don't want painted!! then remask if nessecary, and spray it with etch primer. protec stuff is good. then sand again with 400 and spray it with whatever top coat you want. again i recomend protec gear.

probably not terrably efficiant if thats all you want. you will end up buying much paint for no reason, plus you need spray gear. if you were around here i'd do it for you for $30 or so to cover materials.

i think power plus makes an etch primer, so that might be the go. just follow the same directions as above.

Thanks a bunch gents

Bomber: Thats the info i was after. I'll do it as you suggested. I have access to some spray gear.
Perhaps I can use the extra paint to fill some chips I have from car doors *grumble*. Its great when people respect your car, isn't it? ;) At least they didn't dint too bad and the primer is still bonded.

Cheers.
