blue motor-red sump-no dipstick

hey so I am building a blue vk motor for my UC and I have my red 186 sump on it but the blue motor had the dipstick in the sump and the 186 had it in the block, the blue block has the same castings but it looks like its been plugged so canI some how remove it and use the dipstick set up from my old 186. or what can I do?

with the sump off knock the plug out from the inside

And fit your red dipstick tube and dipstick. Make sure it all fits in correctly as you may have low level problems. An opening for a line or two here. You have left yourselves wide open. :tease:

I know I left myself wide open kind of stupid but I am new to holdens and did not want to screw something, being the 1st engine rebuild I have done
