Hoppers recommend a 1" master.
The AU calipers have a smaller piston area than the Torana alloy calipers and only slightly larger area than the Torana cast iron calipers.
AU calipers 2 x 41 mm pistons. Pair area 264 mm2
Torana PBR Alloy 1 x 63.5 mm piston. Pair area 317 mm2
Torana PBR Cast iron 1 x 54 mm piston. Pair area 229 mm2
A bigger master will not fix a spongy pedal.

If you have one of the original alloy 1" ones with the front brake circuit at the back you can have it machined for a stainless sleeve with a step in it so that the front circuit is 1.125" and the rear remains 1", I bought one with this already done and its much better than the original.

Then you need to set the pushrod clearance correctly on the front of the booster

Yeh I just got an email back from Shannon at Hoppers and he said the same thing( will bed in and get all the friction after 100-200k of driving) so I'll see how it goes.....
