I understand there is a guy in Melbourne called 'Ian Tate'

I believe he knows a bit about Holden engines

Would highly recommend him

i used tas engine recondioning services in fleet street top job top bloke no bull shit.

did a great job on my 308 talk to matt rogers he knows his stuff.

Sam is the guy there. They did all the machine work on my engine, supplied a bucket load of good advice, and were as helpful as anybody I have ever met.
They have been there a long time! They also have an engine dyno as well. They build anything.

Anyone reccomend someone in Canberra? Surely the place that holds summernats would have a reputable engine builder? Let's hope so because I will need one shortly. Worse case scenario, it's a drive to Sydney.

Guys,

Just another +1 for Tony at Speedworks in Ringwood Victoria. He has built two NC Historic racing motors for me for the LJ's we race. Not only are they built proof, but they are class leading in power. Tony was excellent to deal with. A true professional. We came second in the vic state championship with his motor under the bonnet.

There's only one builder I trust and that is Peter from mainline motors Waroona he has built me many bullet proof engines in all my toys and many more has his own Dyno . He has been in the drag and circuit racing scene for over 30 years and builds tuff reliable engines ....

Westend built my 308 for my lx. Highly recommended. Very nice guy Sam. I actually felt a bit silly turning up to ask them to build a mild 308 to "period" specs and looks after standing in their office looking at all these cars doing wheelies on a drag strip.

Sam walked me through showed me some other period ford projects he was doing.

Best fun I ever had was watching him dyno my engine and was lucky enough to turn up one day when he was dyno-ing someone's beast.
That job must never get old.

Highly experienced, highly recommended and a pleasure to do business with.

I just got off the phone to EMA Engine Masters Australia , looking into a 383 Chev with all the good gear ready to go Key turn engine . Seems not to bad in pricing for 420+ Hp ,,,,, has anyone used one these engines ?


Aren't EMA those blokes on Ebay that sell and advertise Pro Comp components? Get a break down of all the parts and we can all let you know Darren, but if it is really cheap (5-6K) I'd be suspicious.
