I think...
For the EFI onto a blue 3.3, most cost effective is to grab the whole kit and kaboodle out of a VK EFI.

how can this be true mate as a v8 would creat just as much rumble as a v6...the 3.8 v6 is junk, it would vibrate the car apart. Better to put efi on the blue

The LS1 is light years ahead of a Holden 6 or V8 in terms of power or efficiency.
As far as the V6 is concerned try driving an Ecotec Commo. A heap smoother, quieter, faster and more economical than an old 186 or 202. Only thing wrong with them is that woeful exhaust note, although that can be rectified by ditching the wasted spark ignition.
I've seen with my own eyes an internally std VT V6 make 450rwhp on a 36 degree day.

kaney - I say throw the Supercharged V6 in it or strap a turbo onto that puppy, now that would be fun .
Totally agree, sure the early series of Buick V6's were terrible in the VN to begin with but every series they did get better and the Ecotec was a huge development step for that engine.
For proof of the potential of the Buick V6 have a look at Street Commodores Forum under V6 Vengence - simple mods to a shitter of a VN and it kicked ass at the drags.
The LS1 was/is bad in stock form (can you say piston slap ) but again with simple mods it can be a weapon of an engine.
There is still a huge place for the S6 in the performance scene for sure but not everyone has to do the same thing.
Cheers,
Mick

as far as what to do with the topic at hand.
1. go the v6 route, will cost alot more than the holden 6 efi route and will require engineers approval. however in stock form a vn/vp/vr v6 makes 125-127kw .... this is a significant amount more than a stock VK EFI motor ... and it is more economical.
as said above, if you want to go the v6 route i'd visit www.v6conversions.com.au and talk with them.
2. vk efi on your current blue 6 .... having the blue 6 in there is half the challenge, fitting and connecting the EFI is fairly straight forward after that.
theres a user on here with the alias efi-202, he has an LC and has just recently rebuilt a motor for it with EFI he should be able to help you out with fitment questions.
as far as how much is involved with the EFI conversion have a look at an article i wrote on the subject, basically i tried to do an as comprehensive step by step article as i could to answer all these questions for people.
it can be found at the below link.
Sammy's VK EFI Conversion
hope this helps you to decide ....
