hi there , i am in interested in two sets . One of my toranas is using sixteen volts are the led like marine ones with a wide voltage range ???

Hi guys & Gals

Before i saw this thread i purchased LED globes for the Hatch from http://ledshoponline.com/

As some would be aware i am absolutely paranoid about how bad the lighting is on the back of my car and worried about when (Not if & hence the high brake light) i will be tagged in the back due to the poor lighting.(I have seen some of the damage done in threads added here)

I am extremely happy with my purchase, the lighting is now brilliant, I checked the lighting prior to fitting the new globes and the L/H tail-light was virtually non-existent in daylight.

Even colour and filled with "RED" light (My lens are quite badly faded & using LH diecast backing�s not white plastic) and the LED's are red for stop & tail and amber for the indicators.

I would suggest that everyone should invest in LED's, be it from Milco or other suppliers as it makes a big difference to how your pride and joy is seen on the road (I'm converted)

I also got 4 Amber LED's to replace front and rear indicators, however when i put all 4 in, the indicators slow down to the point of not really working? i have an electronic flash relay in the car, so I�m not sure why it slows down?

I put the normal globes back in the front and all's good, any suggestions here would be appreciated.

Woody wood pecker had this problem on a Mazda? Ford Courier? ute that he bought. LED replacements all round. They got around the problem by installing an additional 2 indicator lamps in the engine bay with normal globes fitted.
The LED's don't produce enough load on the circuit for the old flasher can to cycle.

You can buy flasher relays specifically designed for LED's (a LED flasher relay). Motorcycles have been using them for ages.

I should prolly add that yes Milco i am interested in your bulbs, especially if you do ones for thr front indicators/parkers for LC/LJ also....

Do these led lamps work properly in terms of dispersion through the lenses?, just asking.

i am receiveing some sample units for testing but i believe they should disperse the light as per a normal globe as there are led mounted on the sides and facing forward plus each led has a "lense" on it which will help spread the light

The other advantage you might mention is that there is basically no delay in the leds reaching operating brightness, filament globes take ~0.2 secs, this has been touted as a safety feature in having the people react 0.2 secs faster to your brake lights, it could make the difference.

yes i have read that and at the time thought that was a excellent thing to have with our old cars because they are so precious... and it make sense really i wonder how far a car travels at 60KMH in 0.2 sec? it well could be the difference between a rear end accident or a tense moment hearing some tyres squeal


at 60kph your going 16.66 metres per second. so i think 0.2 is aprox 1.6m which is a fair distance
