Hi 253ToranaSS.
I'm not sure I fully understand the problem.
Are Vicroads saying they won't register the car with that engine number. Does it come up as stolen or something ?
The only issue I can see is the number QL715599 is not originally out of an HQ, it's probably around an HX model. They might also have that information & want to see full ADR27A anti-pollution gear !!
They can't just say they don't recognise the number, they must give you a valid reason.
Dr Terry.

They said it wasnt coming up on there system.
I got mum to try and book it in for rego today...
The chassis number she gave them was wrong and didnt come up on the system (i worked out that prob)
So she then stated the Engine number and They said that it just wasnt coming up on there system at all....
I was very confused as well....

no unfortunatly i dont, they said they could have used that, even the old rego number.... but i think i got it half soughted now, i qoute the chassis number to get the appointment, then when i get there they add my engine no to the system... I have to get my RW re writen as well now as the mechanic wrote the wrong numbers down.. Just called him and he said he is out or Papers and has to order more from vic roads.. So it looks like anoter week before the beast will be rego'd! FARRRRRK!
Once its all done, the gas tank will go back in, my phat stockies will go back on and the Torana springs will go in to drop it on its guts! (well make it lower anyway, dont want it on its guts, its got to be driveable!)
