I have friends here in Canberra that spray cars in thier garages etc, one of them in particular is very good and highly qualified as both spray painter and a panel beater. He prefers to work for himself and doesn't want high overheads, he gets a lot of the Vintage and Veteran cars, no 2 pak there!
So ask around, I am sure you will find a competant one if you look hard enough.

Im a young fellow with a canary yellow UC and some chips have appeared and it kills me inside. Iv got a huge double garage that is begging for a respray set-up and am looking into it not just for fun.. but to bring the 78 weapon back to tear up the streets.
If anyone could sorta gimme an overview that would be muchly appreciated.
Also finally, does any one know of a site where i can choose different paint colors and purchase them... or is there a shop (i liv in brisbane) where it is cheaper to do so.
Thanx heaps guys
and keep up the awesome work

CanaryUC, just go to the auto paint shop, and get them to colour match a small bottle of touch up paint for your car. Stone chips ain't worth the hassle of totally redoing it till it is really far gone. Touch up, light sand, touch up, light sand, touch up, etc. till it's filled and matching the level of adjacent paint. Go down the grades of sandpaper all the way to 2000, then polish it up. Be careful with sandpaper and edges or you'll be down to primer in no time, try a bit of masking tape on any edges till you get down to the polish.

From what I've seen so far at the drag day, it should look a million bucks when polished!
