I agree Chop, they will fit.
But, i have UC sedan springs in my Hatch and found them to be too hard.
Not enough weight in the back, would be better with some sand bags! or if towing something heavy.
Tends to upset the balance between front and back and it feels strange, especially cornering. (My feelings only)
I will be getting the Hatch springs reset and fit them again.
Sedan springs have more coils in them and i think are a bigger guage wire?

Pedders list the same spring for hatch and sedan.

I'm sure mine are different?
I'll take 1 out of the Hatch and take a photo of them together.
Sedan ones were out of my sons dead UC.
Could have been changed for heavy duty? had a tow bar?

That could well be the case. Pedders list a H/D rear spring for towing and LPG installations.

Hey all,
have found the same issue with the UC hatch,
we took the rear springs out of the deceased sedan,
and put in the hatch,
seems that the spring rating is not the same,
& I know the shocks are good, same age as the springs. (less than 3 years old)
Makes for an interesting ride,
esp over rail level crossings,
jumps around a bit,
not so bad with a full tank of fuel.
and boot full of boxes, lol.

Cheers
Chris.

Did you loosen off all 8 rear control arm bolts before changing the springs and re-torque later?

Cheers
Chris.

Hey, their is something good about all this, the sedan springs give a good ride height, even with the boot chockers a bike rack fitted with 3 bikes on it hanging more than a foot out the back of the car (thats 300mm for you younger folks) plus 2 adults & 2 kids.
All the way to Cobram and back, didn't miss a beat.
Thats the only time it feels kind of normal!

Torque the bolts to 70 - 80 foot/pounds.

Finally, the picture.

The dark one is the orig spring (5 coils) the dirty one is the UC spring (6 coils)
New their was a visible difference, but agree are probably H/Duty ones, too much difference between them.

It also depends a lot on the brand etc!

I have posted this here before but yes the springs are all the same, 4 door and Hatch, Lovells even list the same rear springs for a BA Falcon. I know cause I own both the Hatch and a BA and have changed springs in both.

I swapped the Pedders springs out of my Hatch and put a brand new set of Kings in and it made the car almost undriveable. It became very nervous to drive and twitchy under brakes. The two sets of springs were identicle to look at sitting side by side on the workbench.

Obviously, from the factory, and aftermarket there are different rated springs and sway bars (ie tow pack, air con etc) , but the parts are interchangable from hatch to sedan.
