Rear end is supported on the "Standerd" trailing arms (Lower [They have been fully boxed]) and the Upper arms have been replaced with a single 3rd Arm.
Lateral Location is by Adjustable Watts Link. Will follow up with a few photos when the car gets back from Bendigo!

i understand dj did this with greens tuf and red roo.but the xe was a basket case at first.but what benefits does this have over the standard torana rear 4 link setup????
i know i dont push to the level you blokes do but is it waranted.what were you not happy with with the standard setup?or what did you feel this path would remedy? please forgive my naivity but if you dont ask you dont learn .i have never seen or heard of this on a torana.
by the way love your car and nice to get your updates.
so i can get a perspective of your cars performance what times would you do around mt p?
good luck with your development.

thankyou sir that answers all of my questions and highlighted some things i wasnt aware of.but for my club level stuff i wouldnt ever push the car to any where near what these blokes do.and as im getting older the internal brain handrake is coming on more times as well lol.but still fascinating to read.
cant wait till the years come that allow the hatches to race and some of the xabc coupes.

Hi Guys,
Been pretty busy of late as you most probably can understand!
Time around Mnt P! Dont know as we have not run it there yet. We expect it to be quick!!!

The back end questions... We used to run a HQ in the TCM series and fitted one of these third arms to it. The differences in handling where like "Chalk and Cheese", so the Torrie just got one fitted when we built the car
The Watts Link provides positive control (Lateral) with the ability to dial in Roll Centre adjustment

The Engine has been freshened along with a few other "Adjustments" Car is looking good for Eastern Creek in a few weeks (Drop in and say Hi if your there!!!)

Footnote: Seems as though some of these files are too big to attach!

it was common back in the hey day for teams to remove one upper control arm and use a panhard bar . the standard 4 link torana set up is pretty average as binding occurs through the arc .

mark (corporate) thats a pretty impressive piece of engineering , unfortunately we cant modify the torana as group c specs is the rule .

good luck at the creek.

Remember they still have to use the original upper arms, in the Biante series they can be replaced, hence why some Group C cars don't use a panhard rod/watts linkage

your car is awesome! I love the colour too, looks very similar to mine actually! how big a tyre have you managed to get under it? do you have much freedom with modding the wheel tubs?

Good to see a SLR5000 out there in track form.

At this risk of casuing trouble, thats because SLR5000s never came with flares, unless the dealer fitted them. They were L34 & A9X only. :fishing:
