What the hell has 14 inch rims and tyres that small that are going to get tyres that are worth more than the car put on it?
Cheesecutters don't cut the excuse, be more R13 Barina's, Classic cars etc. that would want 4 tyres in R13 grrr.

I spent 21 years in the tyre industry and can tell you it's a very popular size in Japan. It's also one of the more common 60 profile sizes here in Australia. Why on earth do they make 175/60R14 but not anything in R13.

I'm just super fussy about tyres. if you're on a tight budget, buy what you can afford. Generally, I only recommend 3 tyres. None of which are available in 13". So out of that bunch I would choose the Michelin and Bridgestone.

The 3 common ones were BFG, Eagers and Yoko 352's.Hey Chopper, I'm in the market for for new rear tyres of size 265/50 R14. Do you know what the manufacturer options are? So far I'm limited to BF Goodrich.
Also for the front 245/50 R14 - similar story as the rear.

The last tyre i was aware in 225/60R13 were the Egars. But maybe BFGoodrich do a Radial T/A in that size?dose a 225 on a sprintmaster fit under the lips on the rear of a lc. I have 235 and they fitted with room. Don't fit anymore due to fitting a standard diff. Can you buy a 225 anymore.
I think 225 is the widest you will fit on a LC/J standard.

not according to bridgestoneThey still make Bridgestone Eager S330 245/50/R14 and 265/50/R14's, but only those sizes and will do for a fair while. Pretty good grip in dry and wet for road use, of little use on the track.

stopped making em about 18months ago
there is no stock of em in perth but there maybe leftover stock in the eastern states
yokohama never officially stopped selling em but (yokohama japan) has refused to make a batch of em for the last 5years
so it basicly leaves you with bf goodrich
that also goes for the 215/50 +235/50/13s
cheers tom

I bought a pair of new front S330 245/50/R14's just two months ago. They are still available, and the Bridgestone Tyre Centre told me that they will continue making those two sizes for the old beasts for a fair while yet, but only in 245's and 265's, as stated on their website.
I was under the perception that they weren't available as well, but I found that that is not the case.
Having said that, I'd love to find a more modern street/track tyre.

I think lakeside was asking in terms of clearance under the guards.215 is the widest allowed on a 5.5" wide rimI think 225 is the widest you will fit on a LC/J standard.
Steve
235 is the widest allowed on a 6" wide rim.
So what i meant was i think 225 is the widest you will fit under the guards without rolling the guards or tubbing. However you may have clerance issues on the front when turning.

However this was back in 2002. So i can't garantee it mate Sorry mate. Do you have any mates with 225s on Sprintmasters? Maybe you can do a bolt up test.
