My LX had a Banjo LSD which ended up dying. I couldnt find a replacement LSD anywhere, So i ended up fitting an open centre diff which i find pretty gay.
Anyway, a mate of mine had a genuine SLR which he now sold, but he still has the LSD diff which he said runs perfect and i can have it for $500 (hows the price?). Is there any difference between an SLR diff and any other LSD diff?
Such thing as a genuine SLR diff?

If the LSD is in good condition and you want it, buy it. They don't come around all that often, and probably not much cheaper. SLR diffs are the same as other banjo diffs. The only different ones were the L34 and A9X diffs.

No. just check your ratio. The internals are the same as any other banjo. I think Lx's had fine spline axels though.
For $500 get a reco centre

Would a reco centre cost $500??
Thats a lot cheaper than i thought it would be, i was thinking $1000 plus.
I would prefer a reco if its the same price as it should be like new, shouldnt it?

Best thing to do is have a ring around and find out. I found going to a transmission workshop was cheaper than going to a dedicated diff place.
EDIT: yes it should be like new. actually they can put in better parts than factory too.
