Hi, I have 2 questions:

- is there any difference between a LH and a UC steering rack? I have a an LH which apparently has a UC front end, and I need to replace the rack. How can I tell if it needs a UC steering rack or not?

- How much would it cost to reco the existing rack? I am thinking that I might just get one from the wreckers (it might be cheaper).
Thanks! ;)

Cool thanks!

Why do you run a LH rack on your UC?

from memory a u.c rack mounts directly to the sub frame with an alloy bush and i think it also has a higher turn ratio than an lh.
to reco i think you are up for about $160-$200 last i heard , probably depends on where you go

Thanks, but I'm in Melbourne. I just went and bought a (secondhand) rack from the wreckers on the weekend for $60. It seems ok.

Just on the topic of 'higher turn ratios' does anyone have the casting number (or the part number) I'd find on a rack for minimum turns lock to lock?
