Hi
All Falcons EA-EL borgwarner gears are interchangeable as well, so i think any LSD fitted falcon center could be used in a VN-VS diff

No, eb, ef, & el have a slighly bigger crown wheel & pinion & wont fit the commodore housing. That model ford had a 7.8 inch crown wheel & pinion compared to 7.5 inch in the holden. Not much difference but enough to f_ck you up!!

Hey guys ive been sifting through the conversation going on and i'd like to clarifie somethings vb-vl arnt the same in 6 cylinder diffs when they brought out the series 2 vk it came with a borgie with 3.45 gears the exact same diff as wat ur standard 6 cylinder vl engines had and yes vb-vk series one where just a sailsbudry which is weaker than a borgie so if you where heading int his direction definatly go for vk series 2 onwards which should easylie handle a 308 behind it! As for v8 diffs they are 10 bolt sailsburys in your vk 308's which werent really much better than your stock borgwarner diffs! As im also about to change my pathetic excuse for i a diff i asked for PDR Diffs in geelong advised. they said a vn diff would eb the bet but being longer shortening costs and braket welding cost would add up so you might as well have just put a stronger 9 inch in anyways thats my two cents and my advice to the first member who posted go the vl diff it will do the trick no probs!

BW from XE on have the same gears as the Commodore BW. Prior to around XC/XD, the Ford BW's were slightly smaller in one aspect. This is what my diff expert tells me.

He is half right. EA - EL did have the 7.8" BW gears. So does VK series II on. Possibly the earlier model ( XD and/or earlier ) had the smaller gears.
