Hi all, some people on here know of me already. Ive just got out of a mechanical workshop that ive had for the last 14 years here in Newcastle. Ive just bought a very well established business called (EXTREME BLASTING AND PROTECTIVE COATINGS) 15 minutes north of Newcastle on the pacific highway. This business has blasted a few cars for people on this forum including my yellow SS hatchback. The material we use is crushed glass and is perfect for blasting any car, parts, trailers, boats or just about anything. Please feel free to call me for a quote 0249 871904.
I will update this page with photos soon.

cheers Graham Price.

I'm sure people may be wondering, do you do Soda blasting as well as the Garnite?

soda ( no way ) extreme has been using glass for 10 years with great success.we also use PPG black etch to coat the bare steel. with the black etch you can see just how straight the panel is after blasting, some blasters use a clear coat to hide any damage that maybe done.

Ok then mate. The garnite doesn't warp the panels at all?

I really like this guy....Australia says no to soda!!

Liam, he is not using garnet, he is using glass.

And no, garnet will not warp the panels if the operator is competent.

Cheers.

I would have thought (as a total lay-person of course) that doing it all (Garnet, Soda, PPG Black Etch or whatever) would be a positive for a business in this (supposedly) difficult climate for the same - notwithstanding the significant costs in starting up any given line of course.
Notwithstanding this observation, a genuine question - clearly you don't like soda - why not?
I should say I've just spent the best part of the day at the end of a soda hose having a whirl of a time on my hatchback and therein really enjoyed the simplicity of it all, especially because I couldn't really arse anything up using this medium.

Cheers, TB

Wait for Bombers response. It all basically comes down to the operator. And the Prep after wards.

Theres several projects here in Hervey Bay wished they never heard of soda blasting, guaranteed not to warp panels ,
now have cars that have the bonnet supports clearly imprinted on top of bonnet .
and all of a sudden its cars fault,
YEAH RITE
Now is it Soda or operators fault,i dont know but he closed his mobile soda blasting bussiness fairly quickly .
My Friends RX 3 coupe waited 3 months and $1100 for a good bonnet to replace the soda damaged one
and he got $400 back ,so left out of pocket by $700

Good luck with the business mate. I am sure you will do well.

As for the soda versus garnet/glass debate, as you said, it is a debate that has lovers and haters of both. There is a fellow in our club that owns a sodablast business and uses glass and garnet as well. He has never had a problem with any of them and done many club cars too.

Well it's been a week now of blasting for bubble boy and I wish him all the best in his new venture :spoton:

I have no doubt that he will do well as you can see by his restorations on his SS and SL/R 5000 what quality of work he would do for his clients.

Great work ethics + congenial personality + right advice = Success :spoton:

Will talk later mate.

Best Regards ... Barry
