Hi Guys, just wondering if someone could help me. Just bought myself some V5 simmons wheels yesterday! Im putting them on my 4 door LX torana (standard diff, bandjo) with A9X flaired guards. The wheels are 15x8 and 15x10s, I want to have the look of the guards filled. Any body help me? Any one got pics that has the same set up as me?

Mate, I would think 225/60/50 front and 265/50/15 rear. You could go to a 295 tyre for the rear.

What state are you in ?

I agree with the sizes fatlh500 said. Although the 285/50/15s on my brothers car fit well and look awesome, but you pay for the privelege.

225/60 would be a bit big on the front without significant cutting - I'd rather have a 245/50 if you can fit that sort of rolling diameter, 225/50 if you can't. 265/50 is a good size for the rear, although if you have deeper pockets a pair of 285/40s would be nice I reckon

Agree totally with the 245/50 for the front, except they're not available any more. Agree also to 225/50, not 60, I don't know what the hell I'm thinking tonight hahaha.

I've never heard of 235 or 275 in a 50 series. Having said that, I don't know much : )

Like these? Front 15 x 8--- 4.5 inch backspace, rear 15 x 10---- 4.5 inch backspace running 215/ 60 front and 265/50 rear, rolling diameter is slightly smaller on the front.

Went 215 's on front simply for clearance issues and steering lightness but the offset fills the guards no worries.

285/40 on a 10 are tasty on a flared hatch

But it depends on your diff width too

Weren't those simmons shown pictured with a tape over them and they were actually 7" front and 9.5" rears... seemed the measured the lips included too
Or am I thinking of another set ?

A bit of a shame if the 245s aren't around any more, I guess its like anything - if you have the time and the cash you can probably find some decent ones but is it worth it...?

Haven't heard of 235s or 275s in 50 series either, we're a bit limited in the wider/lower profile 15s, 60 series are much more common

i strongly recommend not to buy these tyres,i was running the 352 yoky,s, was talked into the cooper, fitted them a 265/50/15 they were a good inch narrower, which was yuck,i perrsisted to use them, millage was shit and they wore in middle with only 28psi,on a holden 1 tonner, the 352 wore evenly as did the bridgstone before them.

you can see how narrow gutted they are on the rear of slar,s pictures.

i will never buy these shit tyres again.

waldorf, retro wheels at mortdale will make you some new ones.i got 16x9s and 16 x 10s made for the race car they are awesome.
as for tyres wouldnt 225's look like cheese cutters wouldnt you want at least 245's to fill it out.and as for the rear 265's would have to be the go on a 4 door .on a hatch id go 285. but i dont like the poor old banjo's chances with all those forces working on it.
i tried to put the 15x10s with 285/40/15s off my red hatch under the 4 door but it just didnt look right.the 265's seemed to suit the overall look of it but thats just my car and my tastes.
every car and everyone is different.
good luck with it be sure to post some pics .

It also comes down to availability, and if you have a preference for the front and rear tyres to match or not.

I recently did a ring around in Sydney.... these were the best prices I could find

Tempe tyres-
Hancook 265/50/15 for $200
Nankang 225/60/15 for $100

Newington Automotive tyres (Opposite Yokohama warehouse)-
Yokohama 352 265/50/15 for $320
Yokohama 352 235/60/15 for $230

Yokohama do not make a 225/60/15 (FYI).

I wanted my tyres to match front and back so I chose Yokohama

Dont waste your time fitting the 235/60 to the front as you wont be able to turn due to sever rubbing. The OD is to big. You need to get sum 225/50x15 for the front. I personally have run the 225/50x15 and i was able to get sum 245/45x15 and they look fat as and the OD is ok. On the rear i had 265/50x15 and they fitted ok. I now have 285/40x15. good luck on your search.
