Would not an opening in the front of the scoop as well as the rear reduce it's function at speed?

I dont really know mate (got no wind tunnel to test) I made it because the two guys that have them wanted the a9x scoop but with a bit more height so we came up with that as something different, the windscreen is a very turbulent part of the car so hopefully it will have some benefit

just got feedback from the owner of the jag that bought one of these scoops,apparently it works alot better than the hillborne scoop he had on it.

just got feedback from the owner of the jag that bought one of these scoops,apparently it works alot better than the hillborne scoop he had on it.


Hahaha well of course it would, what's the swept area of the opening on a Hillborne? And it's trying to draw air from the turbulent flow striking the front.
Most of the air on your scoop is sucking in from behind and the front opening is probably serving to draw a little cool air in as the main flow surges in from the back.
Would help to displace more hot air from the bay too.
If he puts an undertray from the radiator back to the sump he'll notice it works even better.

And experiment with some duct over the front of the scoop to see if the performance improves again.

I like the tray idea but might have issues because of the supercharger on it
