Cams rules are very straight foward and fare in my oppinion.
Existing race car with log booked cage that does not comply to current standards is fine. New race car must comply to current standards.
I dont see an issue with that, when mobs like ANDRA will make people change teched cages as they change the ruling.
Cheers.

Agreed.
I just wanted to do the cage once and do it right, for peace of mind.
Scroll to the 22:20s mark in the vid below. Watched this the week before I went out to my last track day. Thought I'd best get the cage sorted!

I'm following with interest Dave - that's a great cage.
I'm keen to have a taxi bar added behind the seats in my car. Can then move the harness mounting points off the parcel shelf and closer to the seats.

Hopefully get the cage and floor painted this weekend, at this stage planning on painting in a gunmetal Gray type colour. I'm not keen on black. White will probably get too messy in the long term.

Hey Steve,
Yeah got a bit of work done on the car.
Finished painting the floor in a Silver KBS and painted the cage a Gunmetal grey. Also fitted a new Sparco seat and a 6 point harness. After spinning my balancer at the last meet I have fitted a ProRace balancer and due to its size the standard fan didn't fit anymore so I purchased a unused second hand Aeroflow 14" thermo fan. So fitted and wired that up.
Headed out to Mallala on the weekend and the car ran perfectly for a change. Got 3 sessions in and about 20 laps done so was pretty happy with the day so I quit while I was ahead and finished up at lunch time. I will post some GoPro footage in a few weeks when I get a chance. Car is slowly progressing.

Cheers Col, yeah need to improve that clutch control a bit more so I don't lose time off the line. Also want to fit some 7" hotwires I have lying around just haven't gotten around to it. Hopefully may help a bit over the 6" sprintmasters.

Looks like you had fun!! What times did you end up getting?
Cheers Dave! Quickest time in the end was 40.7s. Got 4 runs in, think my first time was 42.6s. Definitely can improve.
Here is my final run for the day.

Headed up to Collingrove again. Great day, couple of wet spots on the track and a bit of gravel here and there but still a fun day out.
No PBs broken but thought I'd share a brake lockup followed by a spin into a nice muddy paddock. No car damage just a dent to the ego
Enjoy
